You’re A Model Of Democracy, Tiv Youths Tell Buhari At 80

As President Muhammadu Buhari turns 80 years old, Tiv Youth Council Worldwide has described him as a model of democracy who has refused to upset the electoral process to unduly favour anyone, not even members of his party.

The president of the umbrella body of the Tiv Youth Worldwide, Hon. Mike Msuaan has in a congratulatory message to President Muhammadu Buhari on his 80th birthday anniversary paide tribute to the Presidency for raising the bar of leadership in the country.

“Tiv Youth Worldwide express hearty felicitations to the President for his focus, patriotism and excellent performance in leadership as president of Nigeria. This has restored the respect and earned more for the the country.

“It is in recongnition of the good governance and responsible leadership style of President Buhari that President Biden of the United States described him as a model for democracy in Africa.

“We join your family, friends, well wishers and political associates to heartily congratulate you on your 80th Birthday celebration.

“Your leadership of the most populous black nation in Africa has restored respect and dignity to Nigeria. You have have redefined governance and lifted the bar of leadership with your selflessness and integrity. Not even your fiercest critics will accuse you of corruption.

“Democracy has flourished under you. You have returned governance to the people by refusing to upset the electoral process to unduly favour anyone, not even members of your party. You subject them to the wishes of the people.

and made it possible that the electorates determine who governs them.

“The massive infrastructural drive of your Administration remains the biggest milestone and legacy. With infrastructure put in place, the economy can flourish. The Second Niger bridge is a testimony of your commitment to develop all sections of the country.

“You have worked tirelessly to tame the spate of insecurity in the country. Much has been achieved and much more needs to be done. With the arrival of most of the military hardware and gadgets, the military is equipped to deal with insurgency, banditry and other criminal elements. Nigerians look up to you for this.

“From an economy that was solely dependent on crude oil, your administration has diversified the economy to Agriculture and opened up same for investors. You have taken bold steps and initiated far reaching policies to improve the economy”, the statement noted.

The group further commended President Buhari in initiating projects in Benue State despite hostile posturing of the state governor.

“In Benue, irrespective of the hostile posture of the Governor towards the presidency, you have demonstrated uncommon leadership my initiating countless life changing projects in the state. In addition to appointing several indigenes of the state into positions of responsibility. Most of the infrastructural projects have been completed while several others are at completion stages. This is a proof that your administration places emphasis on the development of the country other than fighting needles political battles.

“Incidentally, all those, especially governors who virulently criticise you for political differences have come out to state publicly that even in the midst of such bitter vituperation of your person and Government, you have not denied or withheld any benefit accrued to their states.

“In the history of our nation no leader has demonstrated such determination, sincerity of purpose and audacity to develop the country like you have done. Posterity will be kind to you. We trust, you have much more to offer this nation.

“We have no doubts in our minds that you will conduct the most transparent, free and fair elections in 2023 and birth a seamless transition that will become a model to all African countries”, the statement added.
