Iran’s military on Saturday announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, accusing Israel and the United States of violating a ceasefire agreement through continued Israeli strikes in Lebanon.

In a statement, Tehran said the move was in response to what it described as repeated breaches of the truce, warning that further measures could follow if the attacks persist.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most strategic oil shipping routes, with a significant portion of global crude exports passing through the waterway.
