National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna), approval to commence six new undergraduate academic programmes in the 2026/2027 session.
The approval followed a resource assessment exercise conducted by a panel of experts from the NUC to evaluate the human and material resources available for the establishment of the proposed programmes at the University.
The approval was conveyed in a letter signed on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, by the Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar M. Girei.
According to the letter made available to the media , the newly approved full-time programmes were, B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence , B.Tech. Intelligence and Security Studies , B.Eng. Nuclear Engineering , B.Tech. Nuclear Science, B.Tech. Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene as well as B.Eng. Mining Engineering.
The approval also stated that the programmes will be offered on a full-time basis at the University’s Main Campus and will take effect from the 2026/2027 academic session
LEADERSHIP recalled that recently the university was granted approval also to run medical programmes in collaboration with the Federal Medical Centre Bida.
