The Adamawa State Government has reiterated its commitment to effective monitoring and supervision of ongoing projects across the state, stressing that quality infrastructure remains critical to the social and economic development of the state.

In line with this commitment, the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, on Tuesday embarked on an inspection tour of key government projects and facilities in Lamurde Local Government Area.

The Deputy Governor first visited the site of the ongoing construction of the Science and Technical Boys Mega Boarding Secondary School, where she assessed the level of work and expressed concern over the pace of construction and the condition of some facilities.

Professor Farauta charged the contractors handling the project to live up to government expectations, warning that the administration would not tolerate negligence or lack of commitment in the execution of projects awarded to contractors.

She emphasized the Fintiri administration’s determination to ensure that all projects are executed according to approved specifications and completed within the stipulated timeframe.

Responding, the project consultant, Mr. Sam Alara, assured the Deputy Governor that the contractors were committed to addressing the identified shortcomings and would develop a recovery plan to accelerate the pace of work. He, however, identified insecurity as a major challenge affecting the progress of the project.

As part of the inspection tour, Professor Farauta also visited the Lamurde Cottage Hospital, where she inspected facilities and assessed the quality of healthcare services being provided at the institution.

The Deputy Governor further proceeded to the Model School in Lamurde, where she received a warm reception from excited pupils and members of staff.

The inspection exercise underscores the Adamawa State Government’s resolve to ensure that public projects and institutions deliver maximum benefits to the people through effective monitoring, accountability, and quality service delivery.
