The Oyo State Government has extended by 24 hours the dusk-to-dawn curfew earlier imposed on 10 local government areas in the State bordering the Old Oyo National Park, with the restriction now set to remain in force until Saturday, June 27, 2026.

This was made known in a memo issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Musibau Babatunde.

According to the memo, Governor Seyi Makinde approved the extension.

LEADERSHIP  reports that the partial curfew, which runs daily from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., was initially announced on June 23, 2026, as a 48-hour security measure in response to developments around the Old Oyo National Park.

With the latest directive, residents of the affected local government areas will continue to observe the movement restriction until Saturday, June 27.
