The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has enjoined Corps members to remain law-abiding and of good conduct, reminding them that the Scheme does not confer immunity on them against legal consequences and wrongdoing.

The Acting Director-General of the NYSC, Mrs Christy Uba, said this in an address at the closing of the orientation course for the 2022 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Corps Members deployed to Imo State, held at the permanent orientation camp, Eziama Obaire in Nkwerre local government area of the State.

Represented by the Scheme’s Coordinator in Imo State, Mrs Rachael Idaewor, she advised Corps members to exhibit commitment, dedication and responsibility, urging them to be good ambassadors of the Scheme, their respective families and institutions of graduation.

She also advised them to undertake personal and group Community Development Service (CDS) projects that would help add value to the living standard of members of their host communities.

“Objective mentorship helps to bring out the best in corps members, it is the way forward and I urge you to embrace it.

“May I also remind your dear corps members that the Scheme does not confer immunity on its members from legal consequences and wrongdoing. You must always remain law-abiding and of good conduct.

“Management remains committed to making adequate provisions for the safety and security of all corps members as the scheme is in liaison with security agencies and other critical stakeholders with a view to addressing your essential needs in any given service year,” she stated.
