US-based Nigerian artiste, Prophet EJ Newton better known as ‘Jay Newton’ performed some of his already released songs like “FALLING, BAD TO ME, TRUCK, KILL PERSON & BAD HABIT on October 1 in celebration of Nigeria’s Independence Day.

The singer-songwriter, producer and psalmist performed the unannounced 30 minutes concert as a surprise for his fans, especially his Nigerians followers.

Jay, who had earlier hinted via his Instagram page @ejaynewton about the performance earlier in the day, said “I performed on July 4th, the American Independence Day in commemoration, so I felt it would only be fair to also perform for my Nigerian fans and followers on October 1st being Nigeria’s Independence day especially because I am Nigerian too.

“This is my very first Instagram live performance, and hopefully the beginning of many more to come. It felt surreal reaching a lot of people via this medium knowing that anyone can join in no matter their location around the universe as long as they have an internet connection and an Instagram account.”

Jay Newton, a Nigerian born United States based singer-songwriter, producer, psalmist, and minister is currently the founder and lead pastor of Great Grace Ministries based in Miami, Florida. He was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, till his mid teenage years before he relocated to the US.
