Angelina Jolie Opposes Brad Pitt’s Request for Financial Records in Winery Dispute

Actress Angelina Jolie has filed court documents opposing her ex-husband Brad Pitt’s request for her past tax returns and financial records in their ongoing legal battle over Château Miraval, the French winery they previously owned together.

The dispute stems from Jolie’s sale of her stake in the estate to the Stoli Group. Pitt claims the sale violated a mutual agreement requiring both parties to consent before selling their shares, a claim Jolie denies. Pitt’s legal team argued that Jolie’s tax returns from 2017 to 2019 are relevant because she previously stated she sold her interest to achieve “financial independence.”

Jolie countered that her statement referred specifically to separating her finances from Pitt following the end of their relationship, rather than an assertion of financial distress. Her lawyers stated that the central issue is her effort to disentangle her life and finances from her former spouse, rather than her general financial status. Pitt has consistently denied all allegations of abuse raised during the separation.
