2027: Oyo APC Set Up 14-member Reconciliation Committee

Ahead of 2027 general elections, the All Progressive Congress, APC  in Oyo  state has set up a reconciliation committee made up of elders and eminent stakeholders to address grievances and complaints being raised by some aggrieved aspirants and other key members of the party after the primary elections.

The Committee which is expected to be inaugurated next week by the state chairman, former deputy governor in the state, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, will be mandated to reach out to all those who obtained Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms of the APC from Oyo state but were unable to secure the party tickets to vie for various elective posts as they desired.

The party’s Publicity Secretary Olawale Sadare in a statement on Sunday, listed the names of the Committee members to include; Senators Olufemi Lanlehin, Brimo Yusuf, Hosea Agboola, Chief Akin Oke, former Head of Service of the Federation, Professor Afolabi Oladapo, Engr. Idris Adeoye, Pa Timothy Jolaoso, Chief Olukemi Alao-Akala, Dr. Adebayo Adewusi, Hon. Gunju Ojo and Dr. Adekemi Opatunde

Other members of the Committee are; Aare Abisoye Fagade, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Abu Adejare Gbadamosi, Isiaka Alimi, Prince Niran Adeyoju, Alhaji Yinka Folarin, Chief Emmanuel Olaoye, Alhaji Mufutau Adisa, Alhaji Sule Ajibade, Prof. Abideen Olaiya, Engr Dayo Lawal, Hon. Ibrahim Bolomope, Mrs Mabel Williams, Hon. Jelili Agboola, Hon. Kehinde Oloya, Chief Goke Oyetunji, Hon. Ramota Okemakinde, Hon. Raji Rasaki, Dr. Segun Ajanaku, Hon. Shakiru Fagunwa, Barr. Abduwaheed Lawal, Hon. Esther Adedokun and Hon. Obatunde Oladapo.

“The reconciliation committee, upon its inauguration later this week, would be given the task to meet with all relevant stakeholders including aspirants who feel dissatisfied by the outcome of the recent primaries which produced APC candidates for the next general elections and it is hoped that this effort would bring about the desired peace and unity for our great Party to win big at the polls next year.

‎“We all know that a divided house cannot stand together to undertake the herculean task of winning an election.
‎”The party strongly counts on your experience and pedigree to resolve all issues amicably. Winning the election will open doors to greater opportunities for the party and the people”, part of the statement read
‎The committee is expected to meet with all aspirants and from an impeccable source the committee will also engage ‎the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin, whom the party described as a key stakeholder and a distinguish party man.
‎According to the party leadership, the reconciliation committee enjoys the support of its national leadership as well as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who acknowledged that Oyo State gave him the highest votes in south west at the 2023 presidential election.

‎The party further disclosed that similar reconciliation committees would be constituted for National Assembly and State House of Assembly aspirants, adding that the inauguration of the committees will take place in the coming days.
