Celebrated actor and film-maker, Ibrahim Chatta, has revealed that insecurity in some parts of the country has affected actors’ morale to travel and shoot movies, especially epics.
The actor who owns Africhatta Film Village and Resort, a massive 74-acre cinematic and cultural hub located in Balogun Village, Oyo Town, Oyo State, noted that the kidnapping of 46 students and teachers in communities of Orire LGA in Oyo State on May 15 has thrown a bad spotlight on Oyo State.
The versatile film maker who made a video that went viral on the loss of his horses at his equestrian haven of film village and resort said, “ Some of our actors are not ready to come to Oyo State to shoot movies as you ask some of them to come to Ibadan and the feeling is the unwillingness to travel down for project due to kidnapping that happened in Orire local government. “ It’s what we are experiencing now,” says Chatta.
The actor said he has cultivated the habit of not addressing everything people say about him, but after reading the negative comments, he had to speak out, and he lost 49 horses, not 48.
The resort is said to have one of the largest privately owned collections of horses in Nigeria.
