Nigerian actress Destiny Etiko has announced that public donations for actor Ikechukwu Nweke have reached N13 million as he continues his medical battle against colon cancer.

Etiko shared the update on her Instagram page, expressing deep appreciation to the public for their overwhelming support, which she noted has given the ailing actor renewed hope for survival.

“13 million realised so far for Ike’s treatment. Thank you so much, Nigerians. This is really overwhelming for us,” Etiko stated. “Let’s fight this cancer. He must survive.”

The fundraising campaign was initiated by Etiko after Nweke publicly revealed his diagnosis. The actor disclosed that he had already spent over N15 million on surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, exhausting his personal savings and relying heavily on family, friends, and colleagues. He noted that additional financial assistance is required to fund the next phase of his treatment.

Nweke’s appeal follows a similar successful fundraising drive for upcoming actress Cynthia Anijekwu, who recently received over N13 million from the public to support her ongoing medical treatments.
