Popular Nigerian musician Inetimi Timaya Odon, better known as Timaya, has gone viral online after falling off the stage during a live performance in Newark, United States.
The incident, which was captured in a video shared on the singer’s Instagram page, shows Timaya performing when a fan in the crowd grabbed his leg.
In an attempt to resolve the situation, a bouncer stepped in to pull the fan away. However, the intervention caused the singer to lose his balance and tumble about five feet off the stage onto the ground, prompting screams from the concerned audience.
The fall did not keep the artist down for long. Timaya quickly got back on stage and laughed off the incident.
He later used his social media page to turn the mishap into a lighthearted moment, using it to promote his new single with Duncan Mighty, titled “Kontrol.”
“Fall 9 times, get up 10 times- that’s Kontrol!” Timaya wrote.
While fans online have largely blamed the bouncer’s heavy-handedness for the fall, many praised the singer for his quick recovery and professionalism in continuing the show.
