Nigeria international Akor Adams is on the verge of completing a return to Serie A after agreeing a move from Sevilla to newly promoted Venezia.
The 26-year-old striker is expected to undergo a medical this weekend before putting pen to paper on a deal that will see Venezia pay €16 million to secure his services from the Spanish club.
The transfer has already been agreed between the two clubs, with only the completion of medical examinations and the signing of contractual documents standing between Adams and his move to Italy.
Sevilla have omitted the Nigerian from their squad for Sunday’s pre-season friendly against Polish side Wisła Kraków, a clear indication that the transfer is entering its final stages.
Adams is expected to link up with head coach Giovanni Stroppa’s squad early next week as Venezia continue preparations for the 2026/27 Serie A campaign.
The forward joined Sevilla with high expectations but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter. A move to Venezia is expected to offer him more playing opportunities as the club looks to consolidate its place in the Italian top flight following promotion last season.
The transfer also represents another opportunity for Adams to reignite his career and strengthen his position in the Super Eagles ahead of future international assignments.
