American streamer Darren Watkins Jr., popularly known as IShowSpeed, left fans amused after jokingly asking Seyi Tinubu to help him get a Nigerian passport during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
The pair met in the VIP section of New York New Jersey Stadium, where Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, was watching Spain’s 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina with his family. During the encounter, IShowSpeed greeted Seyi, posed for photos with his children and exchanged pleasantries before making the humorous request.
“It is nice meeting you,” Seyi told the 21-year-old streamer.
With a smile, IShowSpeed replied, “Tell your dad to get me a Nigerian passport!” drawing laughter from those nearby before he continued his livestream.
Earlier in the evening, the popular content creator opened the World Cup closing ceremony with a performance of his latest single, World Cup (Champions), accompanied by drummers and dancers.
The playful remark comes months after IShowSpeed’s widely celebrated visit to Nigeria as part of his Speed Does Africa tour. During his stay, he explored Lagos Island, Freedom Park and the Nike Art Gallery, met music stars Davido and Zlatan Ibile, and celebrated his 21st birthday in the country.
