Belgian champions Club Brugge have set a €10 million price tag on Nigerian international Raphael Onyedika, as Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt pushes to secure the defensive midfielder before the summer transfer window closes.

Frankfurt submitted an opening bid last week, but the offer was swiftly rejected by the Blauw-Zwart board, who deemed the figure insufficient.
Despite the setback, both clubs remain in active negotiations, with sources indicating that a compromise could be reached in the coming days.
The 25-year-old midfielder, who has been a key figure in Brugge’s title-winning campaigns, now finds himself at the center of a transfer tug-of-war.
With only one year left on his current contract, Club Brugge faces a stark financial reality: sell now or risk losing the player for nothing next summer.
According to Belgian daily Het Nieuwsblad, Brugge has made multiple attempts to extend Onyedika’s deal, offering improved terms in a bid to keep him at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
However, the Super Eagles star has made it clear that he is eager for a new challenge and is determined to engineer a move away from Belgium this offseason.
This is not the first time Onyedika has attracted serious Bundesliga interest. Last summer, Club Brugge notoriously turned down a €15 million bid from Wolfsburg—a decision that now looms large as his value depreciates with his contract winding down.
For Frankfurt, the pursuit of Onyedika aligns with their strategy of reinforcing the squad with versatile, high-energy midfielders capable of competing in both the Bundesliga and European competitions.
Onyedika’s physicality, ball-winning ability, and experience in high-pressure matches make him an attractive target.
With the transfer window still open, all eyes remain on the negotiating table. Club Brugge’s €10 million demand is seen as a final stance, but Frankfurt is believed to be preparing an improved offer that could bridge the gap.
Whether the Belgian club holds firm or blinks first will determine if Onyedika gets his wish—or if he stays to play out his final season in purple and blue.
