First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has launched a travel credit facility of up to N10 million for international air passengers, enabling eligible customers to finance flight tickets and repay over a period of three to nine months.
The initiative, tagged Book Now, Fly Later, was introduced in partnership with 247 Travels to help Nigerians spread the cost of overseas travel for business, education, healthcare, tourism and family commitments.
Available exclusively for airline tickets purchased through 247 Travels, the financing package is powered by FCMB Premium Banking and is open to salaried and self-employed FCMB customers who meet the bank’s lending requirements.
Successful applicants are expected to receive loan approval and disbursement within 24 working hours.
Speaking on the initiative, FCMB managing director, Yemisi Edun, said the programme is designed to make international travel more accessible while giving customers greater financial flexibility.
“At FCMB, we believe banking should empower people to pursue their goals without unnecessary financial strain. Our Book Now, Fly Later solution makes travel more accessible and affordable while giving customers flexibility to manage their finances responsibly,” she said.
Edun noted that the product aligns with the bank’s broader strategy of driving inclusive growth through innovation and strategic partnerships.
“We will continue to develop products and partnerships that simplify financial decisions and create value for our customers,” she added.
The managing director of 247 Travels, Tunji Adeyemi, said the partnership addresses one of the biggest challenges faced by travellers by eliminating the need to pay the full cost of airline tickets upfront.
“Travellers increasingly want flexibility and convenience. Our partnership with FCMB enables customers to secure flights and spread payments over time,” Adeyemi said.
Also commenting, FCMB’s group head of Premium Banking, Opeyemi Makinwa, said the facility reflects the bank’s commitment to providing lifestyle-focused financial solutions.
“Customers expect financial services that fit naturally into their lives. Book Now, Fly Later provides greater flexibility and financial control,” Makinwa stated.
Customers can access the facility through FCMB’s Book Now, Fly Later platform or the 247 Travels website by selecting their preferred international flight and completing a financing request. Once approved, the loan is disbursed and the airline ticket is issued through 247 Travels.
According to the bank, the initiative extends the “Book Now, Fly Later” model to international air travel, offering Nigerians a flexible financing option for both personal and business trips.
