Former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, disclosed that he has all the CCTV footages regarding the final moments of the late military ruler.

He dismissed claims made by a former Department of State Services (DSS) operative, Dennis Amachree, that the late Abacha died on top of a woman, describing the account as false.

Speaking with journalists in Kaduna, Al-Mustapha who said the claims contained in the former DSS official’s book were misleading and mere fabrications, alleged that the author was influenced by others to write them.

“The boy was asked to write the lies by others. I have all the CCTV footages of what happened in my custody, so what he said are not true,” Al-Mustapha said.

He maintained that the account presented in the publication did not reflect what transpired, insisting that he possessed evidence to contradict the assertions made about Abacha’s death.

Al-Mustapha further urged the public to disregard the claims, saying it was wrong to make what he described as false statements against someone who was no longer alive to respond.

“Just ignore his lies. It’s bad to say such things on someone that is dead,” he said.

Relatedly, Al-Mustapha also alleged that he may be arrested for speaking the truth about what he described as the sorry state of the nation.

The former CSO who stated this at the third edition of Late General Hassan Usman Katsina’s memorial conference held in Kaduna on Saturday, said the northern region is hopeless, accusing the leaders of the region of abandoning the founding fathers of the north.

Al-Mustapha said, “But many people may like what I will say. From the situation of the North, and indeed in Nigeria, every child in the streets to the elites, if they are truly there, know that the state of Nigeria is in a sorry state. The state of the North is totally hopeless. Speaking the truth to the situation is meant for patriots. People who praise-sing leaders in power; they are deceits, they are threats. Reading from the contents of the second edition of the lecture series, true to itself, that is the true state of the nation.”

“It took time to coincide with details, but unfortunately, the attendance to me is what I’m extremely disturbed about. From the theme of this year’s lecture. Talking about the sacrifice to strategy. This alone ought to make all the governors in the North to be here as early as 8am. They don’t have the thinking; they don’t have the sacrifice; they don’t understand it; they don’t also have no strategy for the country.

“They don’t care about their future. The system is rotten. Sincerely, the representative of Mr. President, listen, you are a Northerner, governors did not attain this. They don’t understand. We quickly make referrals to countries that matter in the world, but nobody can tell American leadership or a child or a student that their founding fathers matters not. Quickly, that person or those persons are enemies of the land, but here in Nigeria, those who are in leadership positions don’t even understand what leadership is all about. Number two from that book and from what is going on I wish we have time, I wish I may be arrested here because I will speak the truth, I said the truth,” he said.
