Nasarawa State governor Abdullahi Sule and his Zamfara State counterpart, Dauda Lawal, have arrived in Nanchang, China, to participate in an energy summit where they are expected to sign strategic agreements aimed at boosting power development in their states.
The governors, accompanied by their respective delegations, arrived ahead of the Jinlide•Qiangyu New Energy Grand Opening Ceremony scheduled for July 28.
The visit followed an invitation from the Chinese energy company, which is hosting the opening of its new plant.
As part of the engagement, the two governors are expected to sign separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the company to strengthen cooperation in the energy sector and deepen partnerships between the Chinese firm and the governments of Nasarawa and Zamfara states.
The agreements are expected to pave the way for collaboration on power-related projects and support efforts by both states to improve electricity infrastructure and attract investment into the energy sector.
The trip underscores the commitment of the Nasarawa and Zamfara State governments to exploring international partnerships that can drive industrial growth and expand access to sustainable energy.
