Monza Agree €7.5m Deal For Nigerian Midfielder Akinsanmiro

Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is set to join Serie A newcomers Monza after the club reached an agreement with Inter Milan on a €7.5 million transfer.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal includes a 10 per cent sell-on clause in favour of Inter Milan, with the transfer expected to be completed within the next two weeks.

The 21-year-old joined Inter from Nigeria Premier Football League side Remo Stars in 2024 but found first-team opportunities limited at the San Siro.

In a bid to gain regular playing time, Akinsanmiro spent loan spells with Sampdoria and Pisa. However, Pisa declined to activate the €8 million purchase option in his contract after he was unable to help the club avoid relegation from Serie A last season.

Although the midfielder had recently been linked with a move to the German Bundesliga, Monza have won the race for his signature.

The move offers Akinsanmiro a fresh opportunity to establish himself in Italy’s top flight as Monza prepare for their return to Serie A following promotion.

The former Remo Stars star is regarded as one of Nigeria’s brightest midfield prospects and will be hoping regular football at Monza provides the platform to fulfil his potential at the highest level.
