Authorities Search Home of The Exorcist Star Linda Blair Over Reported 100-Dog Kennel

Authorities searched the Southern California home of actress and animal welfare advocate Linda Blair on Friday as part of an investigation into a reported kennel operation believed to be housing more than 100 dogs.

The inspection was carried out under a warrant during a joint operation involving the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control and the county’s Department of Regional Planning.

Officials said the visit was prompted by reports of a large-scale kennel operating on the property. They alleged that permits linked to the facility expired in 2023 and claimed repeated attempts to contact the owner had gone unanswered.

During the inspection, officers examined the condition of the buildings as well as the welfare, safety and care of the dogs to determine whether the property complies with county regulations. Authorities said protecting both the animals and anyone living or working on the premises remained their priority.

Blair was present throughout the inspection and reportedly cooperated with officials. No dogs were removed from the property.

Responding on Instagram after the search, the 67-year-old assured supporters that she and the animals were safe.

“Turns out we just have some paperwork to do and some diagrams, but as everybody knows, I’m looking to move so I can be more educational and help more animals,” she wrote.

Blair added that she hoped to “move forward” and encouraged the public to continue supporting animal rescue efforts.
