Havertz Targets Trophy Sweep, Says He Is Ready For New Season

Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has declared himself “strong and ready” for the new season after scoring in the Gunners’ 4-1 pre-season victory over Girona, insisting the club must aim to win every trophy on offer.

Havertz, who opened the scoring in the friendly, said he was pleased with his fitness after a three-week summer break and believes Arsenal can build on last season’s success.

Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, the Germany international said his fitness levels were “quite good” but stressed that the squad must raise its standards further.

“We have to reach another level,” Havertz said, adding that the remaining pre-season fixtures would be crucial in sharpening the team’s fitness and cohesion ahead of the new campaign.

The 27-year-old also praised his growing partnership with summer signing Viktor Gyokeres, describing the Swedish striker as “one of the best in the world”.

Havertz said the pair had quickly developed an understanding of each other’s movement and passing, expressing confidence that their partnership would become even stronger as the season progresses.

After ending a 22-year wait for the Premier League title last season, Arsenal will be aiming to defend their crown while competing for honours on multiple fronts, with Havertz making it clear that the ambition within the squad is to challenge for every available trophy.
