2027: Forum Backs Adekanmbi For Governor, Makinde For President

Chairman of the Forum of Chairmen and Directors-General (DGs) in Oyo State, Alhaji Kamaru Aderibigbe, has declared the forum’s support for the emergence of Chief Bimbo Adekanmbi as the next governor of Oyo State and governor Seyi Makinde as Nigeria’s president in the 2027 general elections.

Aderibigbe, who is also the chairman of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, said members of the forum had resolved to mobilise support for the two political aspirations, citing what he described as the achievements of the Makinde administration across critical sectors of governance.

Speaking during a meeting of the forum in Ibadan yesterday, Aderibigbe said the administration had ensured regular payment of salaries, improved the performance of government agencies and repositioned key institutions in the state.

According to him, the current administration has brought stability to the public service, particularly in salary payments and pension administration.

He said, “Everybody is happy because salaries are being paid steadily, something that had not happened before. All our agencies are doing well. Look at TESCOM, SUBEB and the Pension Board; they are all performing effectively.”

The forum chairman disclosed that members had commenced grassroots mobilisation to promote the achievements of Governor Makinde’s administration and sensitise residents on the need to sustain the current pace of development.

“We have started working towards helping him achieve his political dream. We are also making sure that we sensitise the people on what this government has done.

“We will ensure that we come out to vote for his candidates and support his ambition to become the President of Nigeria in 2027,” he said.

Aderibigbe urged residents of Oyo State to support Adekanmbi’s governorship ambition, describing him as the candidate capable of sustaining the policies and programmes of the Makinde administration.

“My advice to the people of Oyo State is to allow the good work to continue by supporting Chief Bimbo Adekanmbi as the next Governor of Oyo State and Governor Seyi Makinde as the President of Nigeria,” he added.

He maintained that continuity in governance would consolidate the gains recorded by the present administration and further accelerate the state’s development.
