The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will conduct the fixtures draw for the 2026/27 season during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday, 7 August.

The AGM serves as the league’s highest decision-making forum, bringing together the NPFL Board and club representatives to review the just-concluded campaign and ratify policies and operational plans for the new season.

Under the leadership of NPFL Chairman, Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, the league has maintained a consistent football calendar over the past four seasons, with each campaign starting in August and concluding in May.

Reflecting on the progress made, Elegbeleye said one of the league’s key achievements has been the establishment of a stable calendar since the 2023/24 season.

“Our modest achievement includes putting the NPFL on a stable calendar since the 2023/24 season. It is a major shift from the era when no one knew when the season would end,” he said.

Elegbeleye also highlighted the league’s strides in television coverage, recalling his commitment to improving the visibility of the competition.

“We have succeeded to a large extent in securing live broadcast coverage of the league, although there is still much more work to be done,” he added.

During the meeting, the NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, will present the league’s technical and operational report, while GTI Assets Management will deliver the financial report.

The fixtures draw for the 2026/27 campaign will take place after the league’s earlier announcement of the season’s kick-off date, setting the stage for another domestic football campaign.

The AGM will be held at the Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Events Hall, opposite the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
