Sixteen people were rescued while three others were pulled out unconscious after a residential building collapsed at Dan Dishe, Kwanar Yashi, in Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State on Saturday.
The Kano State Fire Service disclosed this in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi.

Abdullahi said the incident occurred at about 4:32 a.m. when the Fire Service Emergency Response Unit received a distress call from one of its personnel, Aminu Sani Warure, reporting the building collapse.
According to the statement, firefighters from the service headquarters were immediately deployed to the scene, where they discovered that a residential building measuring about 20 by 30 feet had collapsed.
The service said the incident affected 19 people, comprising 16 victims rescued alive and three others rescued unconscious.

Those rescued included Al-Mustapha Yusuf, 15; Khadija Yusuf, 7; Ummusalama Yusuf, 10; Madina Yusuf, 6; Hafsat Yusuf, 9; and 11 others whose identities could not be immediately ascertained.

The three victims rescued unconscious were identified as Affan Yusuf, 5; Hassana Yusuf, 7; and Ummulkursum Yusuf, a nine-month-old baby.

The Fire Service said all the victims were handed over to Usman Ibrahim, the victims’ uncle, for further medical attention.
