Abia State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Chukwuemeka Odimba had underscored the need for intensified operations in the state to achieve the corps’ mandate.
He charged the personnel to redouble their efforts in the areas of surveillance, intelligence gathering and sharing on real time and general operations to surpass the successes so far recorded.
Odimba stated these during the flag-off of the distribution of the 2nd batch of newly acquired high-tech equipment by the command at its headquarters in the state capital, Umuahia.
”Recall that just few days ago, you all participated in the state government sponsored “5 Days Strategic Capacity Building Workshop on technological advancement in security management.
”Today, we have taken a step further to fully equip you to effectively deliver on the Corps’ mandates through the distribution of these high- tech crime fighting equipment.
”These equipment are basically to enhance your operations. The present leadership of the Corps has been quite intentional in your capacity development. You have no excuse not to deliver,” he noted.
The commandant explained that appropriate measures have been put in place to ensure that the equipment are not only properly deployed but also are closely monitored.
”This will ensure that every part of the state is captured to justify the huge resources the government committed for their procurement and the mission behind it is realized,” he added
He thanked the commandant general of the corps, Ahmed Audi for revolutionizing the corps through strategic capacity building, equipment procuring, and functional personnel welfare among others.
