Chelsea Announces Jorgensen Loan Move To Ligue Strasbourg

Chelsea FC announced  Tuesday that goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has completed a season-long loan move to Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg.

“The 24-year-old joined the Blues in the summer of 2024 and made 36 appearances over the previous two seasons,” the club said in a statement.

Chelsea highlighted the goalkeeper’s contributions during his time at Stamford Bridge, noting that “Jorgensen was a key member of the Chelsea side that lifted the UEFA Conference League in May 2025, starting all but one game in the competition.” The statement added that “the Denmark international became a Club World Cup winner later that summer.”

On his more recent campaign, the club said Jorgensen “featured 12 times last season across four different competitions, playing his part as we reached the semi-finals of both domestic cups.”

Chelsea concluded: “We look forward to supporting Filip throughout his time in France.”

The 24-year-old joined Chelsea from Villarreal in July 2024 for a reported £20m, signing a seven-year deal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are reportedly targeting Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, 26, who has a £51m release clause. Costa kept 19 clean sheets in 33 Primeira Liga matches last season and started every game for Portugal at the World Cup before a round-of-16 exit to Spain. Robert Sanchez remains Chelsea’s current first-choice keeper.
