A 40-year-old resident of Dangarfa community of Ningi local government area of Bauchi State, Nuhu Umar Usman,  shot his wife, Ladi Nuhu, to death following an altercation with his son, our correspondent gathered yesterday.

It was gathered that the man fired a dane gun at the woman while she was making her way into their bedroom after she went out to ease herself at night.

Spokesman of the Bauchi State Police Command, SP Ahmed Muhammed Wakil, said a quarrel had ensued between the late Ladi and her two other wives, which made the eldest son of the family to hold grudges against his father, threatening to harm him.

“This made the man to load his gun and keep it beside him throughout the night waiting for any attack from the son. Investigation revealed that on the 28th December 2022 at about 0200hrs while he was sleeping in the same room with his wife she went out of the room to ease herself.

“On her way back to the room, the husband woke up and upon hearing a movement close to his room he directly fired at her in the stomach and was rushed to the General Hospital Burra, but was certified dead by a medical doctor,” he said.

Similarly,  one Amina Guguwa, a 50-year-old resident of Miya in Ganjuwa local government area of the state, killed her co-wife, Amina Koli.
