A Southeast-based group, Tell Your Neighbour Organisation, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, citing what it described as the significant achievements of his administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda and the need to sustain ongoing reforms beyond 2027.

The endorsement was announced during a press briefing, where the organisation also presented a comprehensive assessment of the administration’s performance since President Tinubu assumed office.
The chairman of the organisation, Prince Chidi Eze, said the scorecard was the outcome of extensive consultations with members, community leaders and stakeholders across the South-East, as well as an independent evaluation of the Federal Government’s policies and programmes.

According to Eze, who was accompanied by the organisation’s secretary, Hon. Ekene Onunkwo, the group has closely followed developments under the current administration and is convinced that Nigeria is making steady progress despite prevailing challenges.

The organisation commended the Federal Government’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market. It described the measures as bold and necessary steps aimed at reducing fiscal leakages, improving government revenue and restoring investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.

In the area of infrastructure, the group highlighted major projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, strategic bridge constructions, and investments in roads, rail transportation and port modernisation.

It noted that these projects are laying the foundation for long-term economic growth and national development.

On power and energy, the organisation praised the administration’s efforts to improve electricity generation, transmission and distribution, while also promoting renewable energy and gas development. It expressed optimism that enhanced energy security would boost industrial productivity, create employment opportunities and strengthen the nation’s economy.

The scorecard further acknowledged government interventions in agriculture and food security, including support for farmers, dry-season farming initiatives, provision of farm inputs and agricultural mechanisation programmes. According to the group, these measures are contributing to increased food production and improved livelihoods in rural communities.

The organisation also applauded the administration’s focus on education and youth development. It cited initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme, and support for technology-driven enterprises as evidence of the government’s commitment to equipping young Nigerians with skills for the future.

In healthcare, social investment and MSME development, the group pointed to the expansion of health insurance coverage, student loan schemes, social intervention programmes and business support initiatives as key achievements that are positively impacting millions of Nigerians.

On security, Eze noted that the administration has prioritised the welfare, funding and operational capacity of the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies. He added that reported successes against terrorism, insurgency, banditry and other criminal activities demonstrate the government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

The organisation also recognised progress in women’s inclusion, democratic governance, institutional reforms and Nigeria’s foreign relations, stating that the administration has continued to strengthen the country’s position within Africa and the international community.

Based on its overall assessment, the Tell Your Neighbour Organisation concluded that the ongoing reforms require continuity to achieve their full potential. It therefore endorsed President Tinubu for a second term, arguing that an additional four years would enable the administration to consolidate its achievements, complete critical projects and fully deliver on the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The group, which claims to have over seven million volunteers nationwide, announced plans to mobilise and sensitise at least five million Nigerians through community engagements, town-hall meetings and door-to-door campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections. It also pledged to promote peaceful elections, encourage voter participation and counter misinformation.

Eze and Onunkwo called on Nigerians, civil society groups and community leaders to support the continuation of the current administration in order to sustain ongoing reforms and accelerate national development.
