Manchester City have agreed a €100m (£85.6m) deal in principle to sign 18-year-old Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, with an initial £81.4m fee plus £4.2m in add-ons.
The Morocco international is now set to complete his move to Enzo Maresca’s side after BBC Sport confirmed advanced talks earlier this week.
The signing follows City’s £65m sale of Rodri to Barcelona and £52m departure of Tijjani Reinders to Al-Qadsiah, making central midfield a top priority.
While interest in Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez persists, no deal is imminent. City have also already added Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for a record £116m.
