Maulud: Shettima Urges Nigerians To Reject Hatred, Division, Intolerance

Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to reject hatred, division and intolerance as Muslims across the country and around the world commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

Shettima made the call in his Eid-el-Maulud message, in which he urged Nigerians to draw lessons from the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

According to the Vice President, the Prophet’s life remains an enduring lesson in mercy, humility, justice, patience and service to humanity.

He said the values taught by the Prophet should inspire Nigerians to strengthen the bonds that unite them, care for the vulnerable and reject every form of hatred, division and intolerance.

“At a time when our nation continues to experience sustained economic growth under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, these values should inspire us to strengthen the bonds that unite us, care for the vulnerable and reject every form of hatred, division and intolerance,” Shettima said.

He also stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence, saying Nigeria’s diversity remains one of the country’s greatest strengths.

The Vice President called for the building of a nation where people of every faith and background can live together in peace, dignity and mutual respect.

Shettima further urged Nigerians to remember those in need during the celebration and extend kindness to their neighbours and communities.

He said the true spirit of Eid-el-Maulud lies not only in remembering the birth of the Prophet but also in reflecting his example in daily life.

Shettima prayed for lasting peace and prosperity in Nigeria, asking Almighty Allah to accept the prayers of the faithful and guide Nigerians on the path of righteousness.
