Pastor Launches Christian Matchmaking Platform With N700,000 VIP Plan 

Relationship coach and pastor, Kingsley Okonkwo, has launched a Christian matchmaking platform, Mentor To Marry, aimed at helping singles seeking intentional, faith-based marriages connect with potential partners.

The platform’s membership plans ranging from N70,000 to N700,000 annually.

Okonkwo, the lead pastor of David’s Christian Centre, announced the platform in a series of posts on X, directing serious Christian singles to the service.

Mentor To Marry describes itself as a guided marriage-preparation and matching community designed for Christian singles who are seeking relationships that could lead to marriage.

According to the platform, its approach places mentoring ahead of matchmaking, with members required to undergo a period of preparation before accessing its matching services.

The programme starts with eight weeks of mentoring classes, assessments and guided reflection. Members are subsequently offered recommendations and introductions based on the membership package they select.

The platform says the process is designed to help singles develop clarity, maturity and accountability before entering marriage.

While promoting the service, Okonkwo expressed concern over what he described as the increasing commercialisation of relationships, particularly from the perspective of young men seeking partners.

“I feel for the men of this generation….relationships have been so commercialized nowadays that its almost impossible for a young man to find true love,” he wrote.

In another post, the pastor compared dating experiences among young people today with those of his generation.

“When we were young, all you had to get was a girls phone number but now all they want to send is their account number, now you are expected to pay rent, school fees and transport before you are taken seriously,” he said.

He subsequently invited men seeking “godly well mentored ladies from all over the world” to join the platform.

However, Okonkwo clarified that his comments were not intended to portray women as being motivated by financial considerations in relationships.

“I can assure you that not all women are in relationship for business, there are a lot of good women looking to connect with serious godly men on our platform,” he said.

Mentor To Marry offers three paid membership categories: Regular, Premium and VIP, with annual fees ranging from N70,000 to N700,000.

The Regular package costs N70,000 for 12 months and provides members with eight weeks of mentoring classes, assessments and surveys, limited profile access, an accountability system, five weekly chats and access to a country-based matching pool.

The Premium membership costs N350,000 annually and includes all Regular package features, as well as unlimited profile browsing, monthly profile recommendations, priority access to coaches, global profile access, 10 weekly chats and private groups.

The VIP package, which costs N700,000 annually, includes the Premium benefits alongside a dedicated matchmaker and coach, priority access to the platform’s founders, 15 weekly chats, off-platform introductions, profile protection and access to global profiles.

The platform, however, makes clear that paying for membership does not guarantee a match, mutual interest or marriage.

Mentor To Marry says it is operated by Love, Dating and Marriage Ministries, a non-profit organisation registered in Nigeria, and is targeted at Christians aged 25 and above.

Participants are required to identify as Christians and agree to the platform’s statement of faith and principles regarding relationships and marriage.

The service also stipulates that members accessing its matching services must be unmarried, divorced or widowed and must provide accurate information about their identity and marital status.

Unlike conventional dating platforms, Mentor To Marry says its matching system is centred on Christian values, relationship education, accountability and preparation for marriage rather than casual dating.

The platform also has rules against sexual harassment, exploitation, abuse, fraud, catfishing, sexually explicit material and financial exploitation.

Kingsley Okonkwo and his wife, Mildred Okonkwo, are listed among the founders of the platform, with their pastoral and marriage mentoring experience cited as part of the foundation of the service.

The platform says its objective goes beyond helping singles meet prospective partners, stating that it seeks to help members become prepared for the type of marriage they desire.
