Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, has assured Governor Dikko Umaru Radda that the legislature will expedite the passage of the proposed 2027 budge.
He described it as the final appropriation bill of the present administration.
After the governor presented the N828.64 billion 2027 budget, Daura said the Assembly had consistently discharged its constitutional responsibilities by passing executive bills, adopting motions and carrying out oversight functions in the overall interest of the people of Katsina State.
In an emotional personal remark, the speaker noted that the budget presentation would likely be his last in that capacity, thanking Governor Radda for the cooperation and hospitality extended to the Assembly.
He sought forgiveness from his colleagues and the people of Katsina State for any shortcomings during his tenure and urged the lawmakers to remain united and committed to the state’s continued progress.
Daura said the occasion would likely be his last budget response as Speaker, expressing gratitude to
Governor Radda for the cordial relationship between the executive and the legislature.
He further expressed the Assembly’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, while praying for divine guidance and victory for Governor Radda in his bid for a second term.
The assembly therefore observed a minute’s silence in honour of the late Senator Mandiya who died yesterday 7th September 2027.
