APC Unveils Gov Uba Sani’s Scorecard, Vows Issue-based Campaign

Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has presented the scorecard of the administration of Governor Uba Sani, vowing to embark on an issue-based campaign ahead of the 2027 governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.

The APC state publicity secretary, Mohammed Sani Haruna, spoke yesterday in Kaduna at the maiden press briefing for the 2027 governorship campaign, stressing that the party would take its message to the 23 local government areas of the state.

He said the party would focus its campaign on the achievements of the Uba Sani administration, particularly in education, healthcare, sports, skills acquisition, security and efforts to promote unity in the state.

Describing the governor as a “record achiever,” Haruna claimed that the governor had fulfilled a majority of his campaign promises within three years in office.

He said the administration had reduced tuition fees for tertiary institutions in the state by 50 per cent, reintroduced scholarship programmes and increased bursary allowances for students.

Haruna said the APC was committed to a free, fair and credible campaign and promised that its members would avoid insults and acrimony while respecting the views of other political parties and the people of the state.

According to him, the government had also upgraded primary healthcare facilities across the state’s 255 wards, while general hospitals had been renovated and equipped to improve healthcare delivery.

On sports development, Sani Haruna said the administration was rebuilding the Ahmadu Bello Stadium and had renovated and upgraded the Kaduna Township Stadium.

He also highlighted the government’s skills acquisition initiatives, saying three facilities had been established to equip residents with economically viable skills and enable them to become self-reliant.

The APC spokesman said the administration had also promoted unity in the state through what he described as an inclusive approach to governance.

On security, Sani Haruna said the state government had collaborated with the Federal Government to tackle insecurity, but acknowledged that the challenge had not been completely eradicated.

“We do not claim that these insecurity issues have been totally eradicated, but we have a government that is committed to eradicating them, and a great deal of achievement has been recorded,” he said.

Sani Haruna said the APC would also campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027, describing them as committed to Nigeria’s development and economic revitalisation.

In response to criticism of the administration’s handling of education, particularly the ongoing crisis involving the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the management of Kaduna State University (KASU), Haruna dismissed claims that the government had neglected the sector.

He argued that the recent crisis at KASU should not be blamed on the governor, saying it was largely related to the relationship between the university management and ASUU.
