The Daura Senatorial District candidate under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Sani Lawal Garki, vowed to unseat the All Progressive Congress (APC) come 2027.
He urged youths to seize what he described as a historic opportunity to elect one of their own to the Senate.
Addressing supporters at the campaign rally in Daura, Garki thanked the party for selecting its major candidates from Daura Local Government Area, saying it was the first time such had happened in the area’s political history.
He called on young people across the senatorial zone to mobilise support for the party, promising quality representation and a continuation of his record of service if elected.
Garki also reaffirmed the economic position earlier canvassed by the ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, supporting the removal of fuel subsidy and the reopening of Nigeria’s borders to improve cross-border trade and ease of doing business.
Describing himself as a truthful leader, he pledged unwavering support for Atiku and all ADC candidates contesting elective offices in the 2027 general elections.
Garba criticised the APC-led governments at both the state and federal levels, blaming the past three years of their administration for worsening hunger and hardship. He described the ADC movement as “divinely inspired” to end APC rule in 2027.
The party’s leader, Hon. Lawal Batagarawa, said Nigeria needed genuine change, insisting that ADC candidates possessed the solutions to the country’s economic and governance challenges. He urged voters to turn out massively on election day to remove the ruling APC from power.
The event featured the formal introduction of ADC candidates for various elective offices across the Daura zone, while political musicians entertained supporters with solidarity songs in support of the party.
