Elder Statesman Decries ADC’s Weak Presence In Rivers

An elder statesman, Wenenda Wali, has decried the weak presence of a major opposition political party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State.
Wali, who disclosed this in a statement posted on his official Facebook page, was reacting to the arrest, arraignment and remanding of three ADC members in Port Harcourt Correctional Centre on the orders of a Magistrate Court.
The trio, Chikezie Justice, Isaiah Thomas and Confidence Amadi, were allegedly arrested a week ago during an ADC campaign rally at Isiokpo, headquarters of Ikwerre local government area of the state.
Wali’s post reads: “In 2027 we shall do like this, and we shall do like that. What are you doing in 2026 to show that you are serious  about what you will do 2027?
“I posted a video of Musa Kwankwaso’s  rally in Kano yesterday (Thursday); that’s enough to send chills down the spines of APC leadership. Meanwhile, here, ADC can’t hold meetings, not to talk of rallies.
“I had said that ADC in Rivers state exists only on Facebook, and I was thoroughly insulted and that I’ve jumped ship and should focus on the gravy that my new associates are offering me.
“And these were not strangers. Even my alleged friends validated the insults. I can’t wait for January 17th.
“I feel the enthusiasm in Gabriel Pidomson, but I don’t see that optimism in his co-travelers. It reminds me of a people who were waiting for Tonye Cole’s Sahara quids on Election Day, while wishing him failure in the pools.
“If you can neither hold a party meeting nor rally in 2026, where are you going to plan to defend your votes in 2027?
“ADC is waxing stronger in the North, what is it waxing for its members in your yard? Let’s just be wise as we choose the company we keep. Do not be deceived, the church is over.”
