ITTF Announces 2027 World Cup Schedule Ahead Of LA28

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has announced the dates and host cities for its 2027 World Cup competitions, with China and Macao set to stage major events ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Chengdu, in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, will host the ITTF Mixed Team World Cup from November 28 to December 5, 2027.

The tournament will carry additional importance, as results from the 2027 edition will count towards qualification for the LA28 Olympic Games for the first time.

Mixed team table tennis will make its Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028 and become the sixth medal event in the sport’s Olympic programme.

Chengdu has hosted the Mixed Team World Cup since the competition was introduced in 2023, with China winning all editions staged in the city.

Meanwhile, Macao will host the inaugural ITTF Doubles World Cup from April 19 to 25, 2027. The competition will feature men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

The event comes as men’s and women’s doubles return to the Olympic programme at LA28 alongside mixed doubles.

The ITTF said the 2027 calendar is part of preparations for the expanded table tennis programme at Los Angeles 2028, which will feature six medal events.

The 2027 ITTF World Cup calendar will also include the Singles World Cup in Montpellier, France, scheduled for March 29 to April 4.
