AFCON 2027Q: Eagles Ready For Madagascar, Guinea-Bissau – Lookman

Ademola Lookman says the Super Eagles are determined to start their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on a positive note.

Eric Chelle’s side will begin their campaign with a home fixture against the Barea of Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, next week Thursday.

The three-time African champions will then travel to Bissau to face the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau in their matchday two encounter on Tuesday, 29 September.

Lookman admitted that Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau will be difficult opponents for the Super Eagles, but insisted Nigeria will do everything possible to secure maximum points.

“The whole team is really looking forward to it. Two very important matches are coming up, and the opponents are, of course, tough to face,” Lookman said on Sporty TV, as quoted by footballapp.

“But we’re eager to win both of these games. We know the matches will be difficult, but we’ll do everything we can to achieve it.”

The Atletico Madrid winger’s comments underline the team’s focus as they seek a strong start to the qualifying campaign.
