Justice Musa Kakaki of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday remanded Lagos socialite Afolabi Kazeem Michael, known as “KC Luxury” or “Mr Luxury,” and two others in the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for allegedly exporting 184.5 kilograms of cocaine to the United Kingdom.
Justice Kakaki ordered that KC Luxury and his co-defendants, Boniface Sule and Ikechukwu Patriarch, be kept behind bars after they were docked before the court on a 22-count amended charge of conspiracy, illegal possession, procurement, cocaine exportation, and money laundering.
The Prosecutor, Abu Ibrahim, had earlier informed the judge that the defendants allegedly conspired between July 28 and August 1, 2026, with two individuals, Atandare Oladipupo Oluwarotimi and Latifat Yusuf, who were arrested and detained in London, to send the cocaine to the UK.
Ibrahim also claimed that 184.5kg of the drug was shipped in five parcels using DHL Express Logistics at the NAHCO complex at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja.
He further claimed that the parcels had five different air waybill numbers — 2079998314, 8224082370, 2079973571, 7181131742, and 2211893902 — with “Yemi Ejide” listed as the shipper.
The prosecution alleged that Sule arranged for Ekugo Patriarch to help with the export via DHL at the airport, while Michael involved Lawal Mujab Kehinde of BOT Express Logistics to facilitate the shipment.
Ibrahim also accused Michael of transferring N13.2 million on July 31, 2026, from Mallamawa Ventures’ account to cover the freight costs.
He alleged that the export was completed on August 3, 2026, through DHL at MMIA.
The prosecutor further stated that the defendants violated Section 11(b), 11c, 11d, 14, 35(2)
the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act and the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Based on their pleas, Ibrahim urged the court to fix a trial date and remand the defendants to a correctional facility.
However, defence counsel Abdulakeem Labi-Lawal told the judge he had filed a bail application and urged the court to grant his clients bail on liberal terms.
Justice Kakaki has fixed October 3 for ruling.
The NDLEA alleged in the charge that Michael laundered proceeds from drug dealings through various personal and corporate bank accounts, with hundreds of millions of Naira passing through companies like PATONIFA Ltd, Ade-Lak Resources, Holmestas Global Services Ltd, LA Capital Enterprises, and Rikadawa Farms Ltd.
Total amounts include N790.3 million through PATONIFA Ltd, N775.4 million through Ade-Lak Resources, N217.5 million through Holmestas, N550.3 million through LA Capital Enterprises, and N750 million through Rikadawa Farms Ltd.
Funds also moved through entities such as Fateey Man Multi-Purpose Nigeria Ltd and Mallamawa Ventures.
Further, Michael allegedly transferred N528.5 million and N1.035 billion from accounts linked to these transactions to Centurion Motor Cars Ltd for buying luxury cars.
Between November 2025 and May 2026, over N162.7 billion was transferred from Fateey Man Multi-Purpose Nigeria Ltd to accounts at UBA and FCMB believed to belong to Sule.
In the 22nd count, the NDLEA accuses Michael of failing to declare his assets on August 14, 2026, in violation of NDLEA Act provisions.
Theresa E. Asuquo, Director of Prosecution and Legal Services, and prosecutors Ibrahim Abu, Osaigbovo Cyril, and Okon Arit Nora signed the 22-count indictment on behalf of the Attorney-General.
