Egypt produced a dominant performance without captain Mohamed Salah as they thrashed South Sudan 5-0 away in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Group B encounter.
The Pharaohs took control of the match in the 36th minute when M. Z. Abdelraouf broke the deadlock, giving Egypt a 1-0 lead at half-time.
Egypt continued their dominance after the restart, with Omar Marmoush doubling the advantage in the 49th minute.
Ibrahim Adel added a third in the 75th minute before Marmoush struck again eight minutes later to make it 4-0.
H. Abdelkarim completed the rout in the second minute of stoppage time as Egypt sealed a convincing 5-0 victory.
The result strengthens Egypt’s position in the race for qualification from Group B, while South Sudan were left to reflect on a heavy home defeat.
