Ministers of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; Aviation, Hadi Sirika; Niger Delta Ministry, Umana Umana, amongst others have been identified for an award by a foremost housing journal, Housing Circuit, based in Abuja.
The convener and chief executive of the journal, Seun Jegede, in a release made available to newsmen yesterday said the award scheduled to hold on January 31st in Abuja would be the 13th Edition in the series.
According to him, the award was “to appreciate outstanding industry players, policy makers and consummate icons who have distinguished themselves in their chosen areas of influence and expertise particularly within the Building/Construction mix and Infrastructural Development.
“After a very painstaking effort, the editorial team has carefully selected a few icons who have achieved monumental feats in their respective fields of endeavors. This year’s edition is different because we have included the categories’ icons from Construction, Finance and the Media.”
He further stated that part of activities for the Event is a Dinner Talk on the Topic ‘Prospects and Constraints of Housing Development in the Riverine Areas of Nigeria’ to be delivered by the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Umana Okon Umana.
The ceremony is expected to draw participants from the presidency, sub-nationals, National Assembly, mortgage finance parastatals, housing/land/environment commissioners, estate developers, investors, real estate enthusiasts, artisans, professionals, major players in the built industry and the general public.
Apart from Fashola, Sirika and Imana, other awardees include Sharon O. Ikeazor Esq., Hon. Minister of State for Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs; Sen. Hadi Sirika, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu; Honorable Minister of State FCT; Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Housing.
Others are Mohammed M. Kabir, registrar of Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON); Jalo Ibrahim Ali, permanent secretary, Ministry of Finance, Gombe State; Pwavidon Simon, surveyor-general of Adamawa State; Idris Aliyu Auna, surveyor-general of Niger State; Abuja Property Development Company, Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board, Mr. Akintayo Adaralegbe, managing director/CEO of T. Pumpy Concept, Mrs.) Toyin Ilori, managing director/CEO of Toyin Ilori Consulting and the property editor of The Guardian Newspaper, Mr. Chinedum Uwaegbulam.
