Bauchi State governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has led top government officials to commission the Dagauda Model Healthcare in Dambam local government area.

At the ceremony during the weekend, Bala Mohammed said his administration had made giant strides in improving the healthcare delivery system, saying hundreds of facilities and general hospitals had been renovated, equipped and upgraded.

Governor Mohammed also commissioned Haladu Ayuba Model Primary School Dagauda, calling on residents to reciprocate the gesture by ensuring the classroom blocks are utilised properly to commemorate his administration’s commitment to upgrading the educational sector.

The project has three major components including Model Primary School, Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) as well as Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) under the Bauchi State, federal government and African Development Bank supported programme.

The model primary school project comprises 26 classrooms, ICT facilities, administrative block and staff quarters while the 20-bed capacity PHC was equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities for effective service delivery.

He said similar facilities were provided in two other local government areas of Giade and Alkaleri, adding that Dagauda community was chosen for the project considering its distance from the state capital and limited access to quality education and healthcare services.

He charged the benefiting community and the caretaker committee chairman of the local government to protect the facilities provided for the benefit of future generations.

The governor used the opportunity to solicit for support for his second term bid when he visited the palaces of district heads of Dambam and Mashema.

Governor Mohammed advised the electorates in the state to vote for all PDP candidates including its presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to ensure smooth running of government and provision of uninterrupted development projects.

According to him, a successful administration requires collective efforts from all political office holders through harmonious relationships and teamwork for the overall interest of citizens.
