The Bet9ja Foundation has admonished young Nigerians to develop skills and explore opportunities in employment, entrepreneurship and wealth creation.
The piece of advice was given at the third edition of its Graduate Employability & Enterprise Summit (GEES 3.0), held in Lagos on October 2, with over 350 graduates, young entrepreneurs and early-career professionals in attendance.
Held under the theme, “Earn. Build. Grow,” the summit focused on career development, wealth creation and enterprise, with speakers discussing career positioning, investment, personal branding and entrepreneurship.
The executive director of the foundation, Ada Cuomo, said young people needed to look beyond securing jobs and consider ways to build sustainable sources of income.
“It’s not enough to simply find a job; young people need the knowledge and confidence to earn, build something of their own and grow sustainably,” she said.
