The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) hearing into the controversial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal is continuing behind closed doors, with proceedings reportedly taking place in a calm atmosphere.
A fresh development from the hearing is that the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) reportedly claimed that a second referee’s report exists in connection with the final.
However, lawyers representing the Confederation of African Football (CAF) rejected the claim during the proceedings, according to a courtroom update cited by BSN.
“Hello Sané, at the moment, the hearing is proceeding calmly. The Moroccan Football Federation mentioned the existence of a second referee’s report, a claim that was rejected by CAF’s lawyers,” the update stated.
The CAS is examining the dispute arising from the 2025 AFCON final between hosts Morocco and Senegal, with both parties presenting their arguments before the arbitration panel.
The reported disagreement over the existence of another referee’s report has added a fresh dimension to the legal proceedings, which are centred on evidence and official documentation relating to the final.
The hearing is being conducted privately, and further details are expected to emerge as the arbitration process progresses.
CAS will ultimately consider the arguments and evidence presented by the parties before reaching a decision on the dispute.
