Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four male suspects for separate cases of alleged rape, defilement and sexual exploitation involving three minors and a 20-year-old woman described as being of unsound mind.

The incidents were reported in Ningi, Katagum, Shira and Bauchi metropolis as part of the command’s efforts to combat sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in the state.

In a statement issued yesterday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, said the first incident was reported on October 9, 2026, by a father residing in Gadar Maiwa village, Ningi local government area.

According to the statement, the complainant alleged that his neighbour, Musa Ibrahim, 50-year-old, popularly known as Musa Fawa, lured his 10-year-old daughter into a guinea corn farm behind their houses, where he allegedly defiled her.

Habib said the victim was taken to General Hospital, Ningi, for medical examination, which confirmed sexual assault, adding that the suspect had been arrested and confessed to the offence.

In a separate incident, a father from Unguwar Makafi, Azare, reported that Yakubu Musa, 20-years-old, of Layin Da’u Mai Itace, Azare, allegedly lured his 11-year-old daughter into an empty classroom at Bakoshi Primary School, Azare, where he allegedly had unlawful sexual intercourse with her on separate occasions in September and October 2026.

The Police spokesperson said the victim was taken to General Hospital, Azare, for medical examination, while the suspect was arrested and reportedly confessed to the offence.

Similarly, on October 8, 2026, a father residing in Dago village, Shira local government area, reported at Yana Police Division that one Abdullahi Sule, 40, of the same village, allegedly had sexual intercourse with his 12-year-old daughter.

“Investigation revealed that the suspect had lured the victim about four times, giving her N500 on each occasion. The victim has been rescued and taken for medical care, while the suspect has been arrested,” Habib said.

In another case reported on October 10, 2026, a couple alleged that John Madaki, 55, of the same address, lured their 20-year-old daughter, who was described as being of unsound mind, gave her N1,000 and had sexual intercourse with her.

Habib said the suspect had been arrested, while the victim was taken to the Police Clinic in Bauchi for medical examination.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the alleged acts, describing them as abominable and inhuman.

He directed the immediate transfer of all four cases to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Bauchi, for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.

The command reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards sexual and gender-based violence, particularly offences involving minors and vulnerable persons, and assured the public that efforts would be made to ensure justice.

It also urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
