Singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has broken his silence through his logistics manager, Israel DMW, distancing himself from controversies linking him to social media activist VeryDarkMan and singer Naira Marley.
Addressing widespread online claims regarding a plot to arrest VeryDarkMan over his advocacy for late singer Mohbad, Israel clarified that Davido had zero involvement in the matter.
He explained that any crew members involved in related online group chats acted entirely on their own without the singer’s knowledge or approval.
“Dearest Nigerians. Oga had no hands in Naira Marley’s ordeals during his trying times in Mohbad’s case or in any plot to see VDM being arrested,” Israel stated.
The statement also debunked rumors that Davido attempted to acquire Mohbad’s music catalog or sign former Marlian Music artist Zinoleesky, calling the claims false.
According to the aide, when public pressure mounted following Mohbad’s tragic passing in September 2023, Davido deliberately chose to let police investigations proceed rather than reacting to unverified social media claims.
