Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NSDC),  Zamfara State chapter, Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako, has called on members and supporters of the party to sustain support for Senator Kabir Garba Marafa ahead of the 2027 governorship election in the state.

In a statement he personally signed on Monday, Maikatako said the party’s priority remains winning the forthcoming election, urging members to intensify grassroots mobilisation to ensure Marafa’s victory.

He said the party is confident that Marafa would usher in a new era of progress and prosperity in the state if elected.

Maikatako also urged members to be law-abiding and to conduct themselves with maturity, noting that the party’s strength lies in its Permanent Voter Card (PVC).

According to him, the party would defeat the present administration through the ballot and not through violence.

“The only fight we can engage in is the fight against this failed government that has brought untold hardship upon our people, and the only battle we must wage is to defeat this incompetent administration with our votes,” he said.

He described the NDC as a formidable movement built on democratic principles and called for unity, discipline and commitment among supporters at ward, local government and state levels.

“The time for change is now, the leader for that change is Senator Kabir Garba Marafa, and the victory is ours, InshaAllah,” he added.
