The Technical Director of the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), Julius Fadairo, has assured participating teams of adequate technical preparations and well-prepared caddies ahead of the continental women’s golf championship in Abuja.
Fadairo gave the assurance on Monday after the technical team inspected the course at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja, expressing satisfaction with the work carried out ahead of the tournament.
He said arrangements were also being made to ensure that caddies were adequately prepared to support golfers throughout the six-day competition.
According to him, the organisers are committed to providing suitable playing conditions and a smooth experience for all participating teams, with attention to the technical and operational requirements of a successful championship.
The assurance comes as Nigeria intensifies preparations for the tournament, which is scheduled to hold from November 2 to 7, 2026, with 21 days remaining before the championship begins.
The competition will bring together women golfers from across Africa to compete for the prestigious continental title.
Nigeria will host the AACT for the third time, having previously staged the championship in 1996 at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos and in 2010 at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja.
The completion of the course inspection and ongoing preparations for caddie services form part of efforts to ensure that the venue and its facilities meet the requirements of the participating teams.
The organisers are also working to provide an enabling environment for the golfers to compete effectively throughout the championship.
With the countdown under way, Nigeria is preparing to welcome Africa’s golfing community to Abuja for another edition of the continental tournament.
