Dubois Backs Fury To Beat Joshua, Calls Fight ‘Just Business’

Daniel Dubois has tipped Tyson Fury to get the better of British-Nigerian Anthony Joshua when the two heavyweights collide on December 11, though he admitted the prediction was not straightforward.

Dubois, who defeated Joshua in 2024, gave his assessment to DAZN News ahead of his own weekend rematch with Fabio Wardley for the World Boxing Organisation title.

He appeared uncertain and said even selecting a winner was difficult, while showing respect for both fighters and wishing them well.

He said he would lean toward Fury, but found even that choice tough. In his view, the bout between two seasoned veterans is a big-money business arrangement rather than a genuine competitive fight. He wished both men luck and said the better fighter should win on the night.

The fight will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and will be broadcast live worldwide on Netflix. The World Boxing Association belt is also expected to be at stake.

Fury, 36, has a record of 36 wins, two losses and one draw, with 25 knockouts. He retired after losing his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, then returned and won twice in 2026 against Arslanbek Makhmudov and Mariusz Wach. His standout victories remain those over Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder.

Joshua’s record stands at 30 wins, four defeats and 27 knockouts. After losing to Dubois, he returned with a win over Jake Paul, but a fatal car crash later claimed the lives of his friends Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele. In his comeback fight, Kristian Prenga knocked him down twice in the first round before Joshua stopped him in the second.

The winner of the December 11 clash could go on to face other champions. Murat Gassiev holds the WBA regular title, Agit Kabayel is the World Boxing Council champion, and Filip Hrgovic owns the International Boxing Federation belt. Usyk is the Ring Magazine champion and appears to want only one more fight.
