Infrastructure: NSE Tasks Young Engineers On Creativity

A Veteran Broadcaster, Multimedia Strategist, Media Consultant, Eugenia Abu has said that communication skills is very important in engineering profession for it requires an ever-increasing range of skills to maintain relevance within the job market.

According to her, communication skills play a vital role in all aspects of life both at home, church, and in the labour market and it is being recognized in the industries. Learning how to communicate effectively is an essential element that technicians or in-training engineers can learn to prepare them for their future careers.  

Strong communication skills in engineering have become imperative as the engineering industry continues to evolve. 

Mrs Abu stated this yesterday while delivering a lecture title: ”Communication and Relationship” at the monthly general meeting of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Abuja Branch held at NSE Headquarters, Abuja.

“Communication is very important and the power of communication is so real. So being an engineer does not make you not to speak well. The power of communication is a total package.

“Do not dress casual because you are an engineer and you are going for a casual meeting may be it is that moment you will meet your employer or your destiny helper.”

Meanwhile, the chairman of NSE Abuja Branch, Engr. Ben Osy Okoh, has awarded a sum of 50k to winner of the ‘Infrastructure Contest’ for young engineers, 20k for runner up and N5k two others, with free branch annual subscription.

He said, “We are going to have talents hunt competition with secondary schools in FCT and they asked us to continue with that in April after the 2023 general elections.”
