The Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the release of promotion letters to 5,956 deserving teaching and non-teaching staff of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
The chairman of SUBEB, Prof. Shehu Raheem Adaramaja, disclosed this on Friday.
Adaramaja said that the affected employees would have their promotion cash-backed with effect from October 2026.
He directed the beneficiaries to collect their promotion letters from the Education Secretaries in their respective Local Government Areas.
In October, the Board conducted a CBT promotion exercise for deserving workers, following the approval of Governor AbdulRazaq.
Adaramaja said that the gesture was part of Governor AbdulRazaq’s commitment to boosting the morale of the workforce and improving service delivery.
“Let me put it on record that, apart from prompt payment of monthly salaries, regular training and re-training of teachers, and approval of the implementation of 27.5% Teachers Specific Allowance(TSA), Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has consistently implemented the promotion of teachers from 2017 to date.
“This includes the arrears of SUBEB staff promotions inherited from the previous administration. The Governor has long settled 345% of salary arrears accrued from instalment payments inherited from the past administration.
“The government is taking every step within available resources to drive efficient performance of students in public basic schools. This is partly achievable when their teachers are well taken care of,” Adaramaja added.
